Vietnam ranks second in the number of international students in Korea. Nearly 15,000 Vietnamese students study in Korea in 2017. This number is only ranked after China.
According to the Korea Institute for International Education, the number of foreign students studying in Korea in 2017 increased by 18.8% over last year, to nearly 124,000, of which more than 70,000 are enrolled in programs license. 57.5% of international students study in universities around the metropolitan area of Seoul, Yonhap. Wonkwang University has the most Vietnamese students.
1st place in the list of countries and territories have students in Korea is China with over 68,000, accounting for nearly 55%. Vietnam listed ranks second with 14,614 people. Other countries and territories listed in the top 10 are Mongolia, Japan, USA, Uzbekistan, Taiwan, France, Indonesia and Malaysia.
The largest number of Vietnamese students in the country are Wonkwang, with 850 students, the University of Korea (576 students), the Foreign Language University of Korea (519 students) and Sangmyung University (491 students).
